Ritual for A dead cat

Today we, Claudette and I, went for a swim with our four kids.

We arrived at the villa, where we were allowed to use the garden swimming pool.

While the kids ran around the property in extasy, i stayed behind to unpack the the car.

While doing that i witnessed 'a cat hit and run' happening before my eyes. 

The cat was lying on the road, still breathing. It was an awefull sight. I could not handle it.  

Claudette bravely sat with her at the road to 'help' the cat die. After a few minutes she died and we moved her off off the road on to the villa's drive way. Then we invited the children to tell them about what had happend.

We organised a 'cat ritual' for the kids. So their memory of this incident would not be too traumatic. 

We all pick flowers from the beautiful flower garden in the villa.

And we brought them to the dead cat to decorate her.

As you can see we had some real drama today. But as children are children in the end, they jumped happily into the swimmng pool after the ritual for a dead cat.
